Global Planning Alon Peer:“Maximizing our production capabilities vis-à-vis the global demand” Alon Peer , Global Planning Manager, who joined the company about a year ago, is fulfilling a new role at Nilit, which replaces local planning management.Alon has many years of experience in the management of planning and control, including innovation management and the assimilation of SAP systems for sales and operation planning (S&OP). Alon :The purpose of the global planning process is to maximize Nilit’s production capabilities vis-à-vis the global demand. The mission is to fully tap the sales potential through the company’s global production potential. The first milestone in the process is concentrating the information about demand on a single platform (one demand data platform). We already completed the process in Migdal Ha’Emek and, during the next stage, the system will include the data from all of our production sites. The QlikView system, which centralizes all of the data, is accessible by all managers in the organization and interfaces with the SAP system and other systems. The second milestone is performing a comparison between demands and production capabilities, and building an output model of Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP).This is the stage that we are completing at Migdal Ha’Emek and, at the beginning of 2019, it will be implemented for all of our sites by building a single global RCCP model. We hold a monthly S&OP meeting, attended by representatives of all disciplines, during which we discuss the gaps between demands and our production capabilities, and under various scenarios, in order to arrive at a solution. Participating in these meetings are the managers of the business units and representatives of all disciplines – operations, financial, technology, supply chain, marketing and sales, strategic development, and additional professional managers as needed. Commercial Excellence Sagee Aran: “Commercial excellence enables us to leverage our achievements of operations excellence.” Sagee Aran , Head of Global Marketing: the One Nilit transformation process has two main foci: one is operations efficiency – which includes optimization of quality and output in all aspects of production, planning, maintenance and the supply chain. The second is commercial efficiency , relating to optimization of the profitability per kilogram of product, while selecting the product basket and production plans that are customized for the customers’ needs. Commercial excellence enables us to supply the best products and to leverage our achievements of operations excellence to gain commercial achievements. We do this through pricing performance – building a pricing system that supports decisions and helps us to channel Nilit to the right markets, customers and products – in a way that optimally serves our customers and the selected programs. Systematic performance of the process enables us to wisely choose the product basket and production plans and to channel ourselves in advance, so that we provide the best service to our customers – with attention, availability and with the quality of our products. With the assistance of the IT department, the analysis is carried out on the data from all sites, customers and products. We have a global perspective and we are looking for the best in all regions. For example, if we have a customer who is paying a higher price for a product and is willing to increase its product demand over time, we will prefer to channel the goods to him, rather than sell the product at a lower price in another region. The price, of course, always needs to be competitive – otherwise customers will not buy from us. One of the changes deriving from the process is the focus on fewer products for which we can provide better service and achieve higher profitability.Weighting of the interface between supply and demand with Nilit’s special capabilities, enables us to create a foundation for sustainable success. 13
