The OHI (Organizational Health Index) is an innovative tool developed by the international management consulting firm, McKinsey, that helps companies measure and monitor performance-driving components, using such indicators as: direction , capabilities , motivation , coordination and control , leadership , outward orientation , innovation , work environment and values . The survey provides a simple and effective ‘roadmap’ for improving organizational performance and for ensuring the company’s robustness over time. Liron Oz , HR Manager Operations, Migdal Ha’Emek, 8 years at Nilit, will lead the handling of the findings of the organizational health survey conducted at the company in November 2017, in which about 93% of the company’s employees worldwide took part. Liron :The survey findings enable us to map our strengths and points for improvement in the organizational conduct and, according to them, the company’s management chose the issues to focus on during the upcoming period. The survey results attest to Nilit’s strengths in terms of innovation and definitive task management, as well as the need to improve our employees’ identification with the company’s vision and strategy , and create greater clarity with regard to the development directions and the challenges we are facing. What changes can be expected as a result of the survey? Liron :The managerial strengths attest that employees are receiving clear instructions and know what they are supposed to do at the task level. However, we identified a need to strengthen the managerial, developmental and advisory style, and we will take action to improve the soft skills of managing and mentoring and to deepen the dialogue between managers and employees – inter alia, through personal development conversations , which were added to the performance evaluation process this year. The training program for 2018 – 2019 has been designed to offer a broad response to the employees’ needs for personal development and training. In terms of organizational direction – we will take action to deepen the intraorganizational communications. We will develop a pilot of more accessible digital communications that will facilitate providing updates about significant events.Additionally, we will create platforms for ongoing dialogue through global forums in a variety of disciplines, as well as local site forums integrating various departments. Most of these forums will begin operating in early 2019.
