Teva CFS Book English
Health Made in Kfar Saba Teva is a global company based in Israel, which is among the top pharmaceutical companies in the world, and which specializes in manufacturing generic and innovative drugs. As a city that supports enterprise, Teva is part of Kfar Saba’s landscape and a cornerstone at the base of the city’s corporate fabric. It is very important to us that the plant is located in our developing area, since the plant is a source of jobs for the city’s residents, industrial development in the area, and for the entire community. The company’s management and employees are meaningful partners of the city, while maintaining strong ties and true friendship, both at the corporate and community levels. In recent years, strong ties have been built between the plant’s management and the Kfar Saba municipality and residents, and together we have created a warm and cohesive family that is involved in numerous projects for the community in Kfar Saba. Our immense appreciation of the plant manifests in action as well. Therefore, we have decided to name a street after Teva’s founder, the late Eli Hurvitz. I met the late Eli Hurvitz for the first time around 15 years ago, as part of my public work in the city. Since then we met to discuss various issues, and I got to know a man who was very sensitive to people’s needs and was concerned for people’s welfare. The last time our paths crossed, Hurvitz proved what humaneness was. I especially remember a meeting on the evening of Rosh Hashanah regarding founding a joint scholarship fund for Jewish and Arab entrepreneurs. His wise words and vision were an inspiration, both for the project, and for me personally. Naming a street after the late Eli Hurvitz in Kfar Saba was an especially important step for me, in light of his immense contribution to the city and to the country. Some of the municipal activities are based on giving to society, and we are proud to see Teva employees as full partners in our diverse activities, including the Security Patrol project with the Department of Welfare, in volunteering with the Enosh NPO, and in other important projects for the community. The Employees’ Committee and Teva management are important partners that give to the city’s community and have strong ties and a true friendship with it. Thus, I take care to honor the site management, the Employees’ Committee, and the employees whenever a toast is raised over the holidays. Keep up the excellent work! Yehuda Ben Hamo Mayor of Kfar Saba This magnificent book, the result of many months of hard work, presents you with the story of our home - the Teva Kfar Saba site. The book compiles stories and photos from the past and we can be proud of who we are, what we are, and also what we have yet to become. The book is testimony that the Teva Kfar Saba site is a warm home - with a bright past, present, and future for us all. As I hold it, I feel a profound sense of pride that we belong to a family with such a special tradition, a strong present, and a promising future. Hopefully, in a few years we will double the scope of this book with dozens of additional pages chronicling the experience and success of Teva Kfar Saba. Sincerely, Eliran Kozlik Chairman of the Employees’ Committee Word from the Mayor of Kfar Saba Yehuda Ben Hamo Word from the Chairman of the Employees’ Committee Eliran Kozlik 9
