Teva CFS Book English
Caring Working together, volunteering together, making a difference together The Kfar Saba site gives back to the community Throughout the years, the Kfar Saba site fostered diverse volunteer activities for the community according to the needs of the community and the employees’ inclinations, and in the spirit of Teva’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. T eva sees community involvement as paramount. Here at Kfar Saba we encourage our employees to get involved in the community and support this activity in every which way. Lea Yanon was in charge of Welfare at the site, until she retired in 2015. Leah instituted the idea of group volunteering from 2010: “Group volunteering empowered both the workers and the community, but the most significant added value was actually the relationships that were forged and strengthened among the employees, within the teams and the departments. Sometimes, the desire to give back came from the workers, and sometimes we invited them to participate. There were departments that wanted to volunteer every quarter. A statement that kept surfacing after each group volunteering session was: “I got more than I gave” ...” “Teva Tov” (in Hebrew “good nature) - Teva with meaning Over the years, we witnessed how volunteering gave our employees a sense of meaning, brings people closer, and fosters relationships among employees and teams at the site and employees and people in the community. The numerous activities that the Kfar Saba site initiated includes activities together with Enosh - The Israeli Mental Health Association, HaBayit Shel Ronit (a social center that offers activities for youth and adults with special needs), a seniors club, Patch Patrol, a camp for kids with special needs, and more. For the past two years, volunteer activities take place as part of the Teva Tov project, which has already been declared as tradition, and which takes place during an entire week in several centers and by a large number of employees. Teva Kfar Saba’s community work is based on Teva’s organizational culture and on the company’s vision and values, which place a strong emphasis on social responsibility. “ Group volunteering empowered both the employees and also the community but the most significant added value was actually the relationships that were forged and strengthened among the employees, within the teams and the departments “ [Lea Yanon] Lea Yanon volunteering at Hanukkah, at Meir Hospital Better lives for our community * 65
