Making our Families Proud Cars or ships? Before the R&D building and the underground parking garage were built, the site had an outdoor parking lot. Every winter, the parking spots adjacent to the fence were flooded. Every year, the drains were cleaned and made bigger, but every year the same thing happened: the cars would completely fill up with water and we were left wondering “who would it be this time?” Who lives on the red floor? And who lives on the blue? And on the green? The Tablet Department used to be located on one floor. The vats with the granulate used to be lifted with a crane and using a heavy iron inverter. When the GMP procedures were introduced, the iron inverter was replaced with a stainless steel inverter, which made the work much easier. In 1994 the department moved to a new building and it is currently spread on two floors - the top floor houses the bins from which the material is poured into the machines below - on the first floor. There’s no doubt that life became much easier thanks to the change. In the 3-storey building, the floors are named by the colors of the doors: “the red floor” - Floor B - the Granulation Department, “the blue floor” - Floor 0 - the Tablets Department, Floor 1 - Bins and Granulation In recent years, the doors were replaced with new automatic doors that help maintain the required pressure gradient between the rooms and the corridor. Of the colored doors, only one blue door remains as a memento. Saying goodbye to the site’s legendary entrance gate How can you forget the site’s legendary entrance gate... The bustle of taxi drivers, the noise of the telephone operator answering “old fashioned” calls, dozens of workers wanting to get in and out in characteristic crowding. It seemed that the gate to the Kfar Saba plant was that busiest and most bustling place there was. In 2010 we said goodbye to the old gate, which made way for a quieter and more regal entrance, in the spirit of the times. • Before the Sterile Plant was built, the sterile work took place in a department inside the OSD Plant, where surgical thread was made, among other things. • When Teva manufactured the toothpaste Parodontax, the plant’s employees were given the toothpaste to take home so that they could try it with their families and give feedback on the flavor and texture. • In 1980 there was a request to make a children's cough syrup, and a strong emphasis was placed on the flavor. Rodney Kazan, Manager of the Lab, used to “catch” workers in the hallway and invite them to a “taste test” of the four flavors he concocted. • In the Packaging Department the workers used to joke and operate the department vacuum cleaner as a siren. The first person to always stand at attention was Dalya Shiker - Manager of the mythological department. ► Did you know? * Saying goodbye to the site’s legendary entrance gate How can you forget the site’s legendary entrance gate...
